Queen Charlotte of England was Black
Queen Charlotte wife of King George the Third was Black
She was a German princess with African ancestry
that was white washed from history ; it is important
to recognize and acknowledge that she was a woman
of color ; that she was the first Black Queen of
England too who has living descendants including
Queen Elizabeth and her family !
The original painting on the right and
white washed paintings
The cap covering her natural hair
A full portrait of Charlotte
Came across this one and is more realistic
Another realistic portrait
Sadly this is white washed but she was pretty
I can see a resemblance to Queen Elizabeth the 2nd
Her natural hair without powder
A book about Charlotte

her natural hair

My love of Historical Clothing and Hair
Examples of Historical Clothing and Hair
featuring Women of Color
Victorian African American woman
wearing a jacket and scarf ; the sleeves
are nicely ruffled . Also looks like
there is some sort of floral detail
hair is done up with a long spiral
curl to one side
Mrs . Allwood /Alting : Simon Maris
Victorian Era
with a pretty bonnet and fan ; bonnet may
have a feathered detail
Hair is up and probably in a bun and
swept forward in front with curls
Dress looks evening with a floral pattern
Mother and child late 1890's
early 1900's ; both are in
white lace day dresses
Mother has the popular updo of the day
and the little girl is wearing a matching
white bow in her hair which looks braided
Josephine Baker in a long satin gown
Art Deco style with jeweled earrings
and bobbed hair
Her gown has a beaded detail and the
thin straps looked jeweled and her
makeup is very dramatic
African woman from the Renaissance
Dress has a beautiful gold lace detail
and ruffled collar and pearls ; she is
wearing a chemise underneath her
dress which looks reddish brown
her hair of course is pulled back into
a bun and she is wearing a red
and gold headwrap to match dress
18th century African woman in
a loose fitting white jacket and a
brown petticoat . She is wearing
red earrings and a necklace
and a gold ring . Her hair is
in an updo and she is wearing a

The Real Cleopatra
Cleopatra was a black woman
One of her great grandmothers was black
and her sister Arsinoe was black too .
Cleopatra is always portrayed as a white
woman but the truth is that she was black.
Here are some examples of what she and her
sister both really looked like ; as well as
other portrayals of Black Egyptians !
